KAWASAKI Z1B – FOR SALE

For sale is my Z1B, which I have owned since July 2016.
The bike is a USA import and I bought it as a project.
The dating letter from Kawasaki confirms the engine and frame numbers are matching and the bike was manufactured in November 1974. The original Vin tag shows 11/74 as the manufacture date.
At the time of purchase the bike was a non-runner, with a number of parts missing.
The frame, swinging arm, side stand, centre stand, battery box, rear light bracket, footrest brackets, top yoke, handlebar clamps and engine brackets have been powder coated in gloss black.
The engine was stripped and the crankcases, barrels, head, sump and cam cover aqua cleaned by Steve Smethurst.
The barrels have been rebored and new pistons, rings and pins fitted.
The cam chain, tensioner assembly, guide, idler assembly and bottom roller have all been replaced.
New gaskets and oils seals fitted
Dyna S ignition fitted.
A starter clutch repair kit was installed.
All new cables.
The carbs have been stripped, vapour blasted, ultra-sonic cleaned and rebuilt with new Mikuni main jets.
The wiring harness has been replaced.
The front forks have been stripped and rebuilt with new oil seals.
The exhausts are a Doremi set from Z-Power.
The fuel tank, tail piece and side panels are a new Doremi set from Z-Power.
The front mudguard is a new genuine Kawasaki item.
The mirrors are new genuine Kawasaki items.
The chain guard is a new repro part.
The rear mudguard, grab rail, kick start lever, rear brake arm and rear brake lever have been rechromed.
New chain and sprockets.
New steering damper.
New handlebars.
New indicators.
New repro rear shocks.
New Motobatt battery.
New Avon Roadrider tyres, tubes and rim tapes.
The wheels have been rebuilt with polished stainless steel spokes and new bearings.
The clocks have been restored by Al Marshall and the odometer reset to zero. The bike has now done 1,600 miles since being restored.

I had the bike registered in the UK and it is on an age related ‘N’ plate.

The bike is for sale for £14,000 and located at Barnard Casle in County Duham.

Having just done one along the same lines, I would imagine it has cost more than the asking price to get it to where it is now.
