About a year ago I bought a z1000M engine and carbs from a fellow Z1OC member for my special frame. Unfortunately the engine wouldn't fit so is now sold. I had stripped the carbs , ultrasonically cleaned them and rebuilt them to J spec. New float bowl gaskets etc. The linkages and choke now work ( choke linkage rod was bent) .
Pilot jets are the same between J and M, but main jets are different ( J has 127.5) This is of course for a standard J running a standard exhaust. I thought that most Js would be running a 4 into 1 so upjetted a little with 130s.
Anti tamper bungs were drilled out and air screws set to standard J ( 1 1/4 turns out)
Ready to fit and then you can sett idle speed/ balance etc
