Z1 key number

Hi all I have a early December 1972 z1 and have been trying to find a spare lion key my original key is number 645 which fits all the locks but I am told that key number is incorrect for that bike ? I don’t want to change all the locks but would like to find a spare lion key any help would be appreciated thanks Rob

as far as I am aware 645 was never used by Kawasaki for any model, let alone Z series. Is your current 645 key a lionhead one?

Well it’s a lion head key don’t know if it’s a repro came with the bike sounds like it probably is so won’t find another thanks Rob

There are repro lionhead keys out there but they don'y have KAWASAKI embossed on them for obvious copyright reasons. If yours has no KAWASAKI mark then it is a repro lock

Hi it clearly has Kawasaki on it and looks like a real one but who knows thanks I will keep looking you never know
