#1 PostAuthor: Foxfix » Sun Oct 06, 2024 9:11 pm

Can anyone please confirm why there is a Diode in the wiring in the direction of the rear light on a 1981 Z1000 LTD (same as the Z1000J) and what it is used for ?

Thank you.

A diode only allows electrical flow in one direction and is used to isolate when two sources light one bulb but isolates one source from the other.
Ie if you had both left and right indicators feeding a single idiot light.
Without it then when either indicator was live both indicators and the idiot light would flash.
