Z1000 R2 Elr oil cooler

#1 PostAuthor: Stugill » Fri Oct 18, 2024 8:18 am

Good morning all.

My quick chain and sprocket replacement job has inevitably expanded to other work/tart-up for the winter.

The oil cooler is looking a bit ratty with lots of the fins being damaged, I can no doubt try to straighten them out and a coat of paint will do wonders but I thought i'd have a quick look at a replacement.

My cooler is 3 row and the Cmsnl site shows it as part number 39061100610, the diagram shows it as 3 row however if you open up the part it shows it as 4 row?

The models that it fits include the Elr's and Kz1100 B1 and B2.
I have no issues fitting a 4 row if it'll fit, as i'm not crazy about total originality

Are there any other alternatives that people have fitted whereby it might be easier to source a decent one?

Cheers

Stu

If it’s not the same actual depth it between the mounting holes it won’t fit on the standard bracket.its quite expensive too…

You could get a black 7 row 115mm cooler for a lot less on eBay but it wouldn’t fit the standard lines, however you can get lines reasonably keen and it might require a bit of fabrication to get it to fit the standard mountings.

I went for HEL cooler on my J build. Readily available and easy to fit with bespoke length pipework.
