If I was really interested I'd want it to start with a 1 and certainly no more than a very low 2 - but that's me. As a comparison my Z1R with USD and single side swingarm that's had a rebuilt engine and RS34s I'd say is not worth more than £5K.

What is the vendor looking for ?

Im fairly sure your Z1r would be worth a bit more than that Chris. At least a bit north of 8K. :rock

a rather optimistic 1500 quid.
it there any way of testing the dfi system as it sounds expensive if its not working.
im waiting to hear back, if they will take an offer, ive told him im not interested at 1500 but may be if its seriously negotiable. im not bothered either way.
ive enough projects as it is, but i do fancy a zed with a gpz engine....we will see i suppose

The injector jets can be serviced and there are still a few kicking about if they are knackered, the throttle bodies are simple enough and the 21176-1004 THROTTLE SENSOR is shared with a few other bikes. Yea kick back a wait to see if the worm is bit.

biggest things to check are ECU, Air flow meter and Fuel Pump - all very expensive if not working. As Angus said Injectors can be rebuilt readily.
Fuel Pump - if not putting out 45psi then a new pump.
ECU - guy in Germany can rebuild but not cheap.

Ideally a mate with a running GPZ to test the ECU/air flow meter. Pump needs a pressure gauge setup to test. I had issues with mine and it was only putting out a few psi. Rebuild kit made no difference. New pump needed - OEM equivalent horrendously expensive.

But early FI bikes when running well are glorious.

LIke Chris says there could be snakes waiting fir anyone who buys a non running project, i know i got bit with one of mine. There is a complete finished bike near exact the same on ebay, thats 2 grand more (buy open to offers) than you would offer for the project bike and looks like its a tight build. You could end up putting the same into the project bike but with less the stress.
