Kill switch plate. available? or bypass, how?

#1 PostAuthor: warren3200gt » Fri Aug 19, 2016 4:16 pm

If any of you guys have taken the kill switch apart to clean the contacts you'll know there is a plastic / bakerlite plate which has two springs through it. This is the main plate which is the heart of the switch and should be in one piece. well mine isn't! I've tried to reconstruct the parts by gluing them back together but when reassembled the switch is a bit hit and miss.

So, firstly, is it possible to get replacement plates? or secondly, is it possible to just bypass the switch altogether and if so how? there are two wires which go to the kill switch and my simple brain says that jumping those wires would bypass the switch, only it doesn't appear to work.
Yes it does my ad hoc wiring was naff. I'll just bypass it. Ignore me.

You can solder them together, (use heat shrink ) then put the switch back on ( off run off ) back on ( held in with 2 screws ) so now you have by passed the kill switch.. ( always on ) or I do a switch restoration service if required required? One switch or both..

I've put it back together with both conectors in the same hole and then replaced the screws for now.
Thanks Zedman but they don't need refurbing just need to replace that plate under the thumb lever. When I can be arsed I'll take out the good one on my other 650, scan it and then 3d print a few spares in nylon.
