Kwaki H1-A Oil Burner Headlight

#1 PostAuthor: MikeP » Tue May 02, 2017 10:40 am

Anyone imported a 500 triple H1-A from the US and changed the headlamp to suit UK roads? If so, what headlamp did you use and where can I get one from? I hoped that z-power had a suitable replacement but seems they've only got ones for the later D models onwards
I haven't run the bike yet, as it's a very long winter project, so not sure if the original US headlamp dips downwards rather than to the right for US or left for UK.

Mike.
I have a brand new H4 quartz UK spec headlight and chrome trim ring assembly available for your bike, if it's the same as a H2C which I'm sure it is.
£25 + postage to you sir.
PM me know if you want it.

I've got a KH400 and fitted a Halogen conversion to mine from http://www.kawatripleparts.com. Simon there is a good guy and it looks like he does a replica headlight for the H2 - might be worth a look ?

H1A headlight bowl is Chrome. Not sure if later model lens will fit into the original bowl though.

23007-013 is listed for ALL the H1s right through to the KH500 also the Avenger and Samurai and W1 and W2, no H2s. I'd have sworn the later H1s had a bigger light but there you go.. My Avenger is a Uk bike the headlight lens says Stanley 6.0134 which appears to be listed for some Hodnas as well.

from memory the last model A8 (KH500) had the bigger Z900 headlight fitted.

My 72 build H1D has it's original smaller Stanley headlight which is about as much use as a Handbrake on a Canoe, I'd honestly see better going everywhere backwards with the brake light on.

Thanks for everyone's help. And especially to Will for the offer on a headlamp unit. Hope it works.
You're right Garry, I've seen brighter interior lights than the poor headlamp at a massive 35W. There must be a way of using LEDs for the headlight, or other lights to allow a bigger headlight bulb to be used. Or is there a way of getting more out of the alternator?
