The needles on my Z1A were all on the wrong notch, however one of the little screws that hold the plate, with the lifter, which I need to move, is well and truly stuck, with a chewed head. I’ve tried heat, but got nowhere.
There are a limited number of options, one is to replace the valve and screw after drilling it out. Maybe I can save the slide but there’s every chance I may ruin the threaded hole.
My carbs are the early type with the 17mm drain nut, the cutaway is 2.5 and the side part number is 16025-051. No stock at the usual places, I found a new one in the states, but at around £100 posted, and could take ages. Any one got one lying around, or a source I haven’t found? The 3x10mm screw should be less of a problem, I’ve ordered some from the bay of fleas.
In case I can’t find another slide I’m going to ask my mate, who has a lot of patience and a pillar drill, to try and drill the screw out.

Sorted - my mate drilled the screw out without damaging the thread - more than I could have done. He was able to drill a hole down the centre and pick the threaded remnants out, as I said he has time and patience on his side.
