Z400D3 1976

#1 PostAuthor: r3sc » Thu Mar 24, 2022 4:53 pm

Hi All,

I know I’m going to face a barrage if p- -s taking but for my sins I’ve bought myself a 1976 Z400D3 twin. Ok, ok yes, ugly ducking, slow, undesirable but I had one when I was 17 many years ago and I thought I’d give one another chance!

Anyway, I’m going to need lots of bits for it to get it something like and I’d like to ask anyone out there who has any parts for this bike to let me know.

I’m particularly interested in the “Holy Grail” OEM exhausts, any bodywork, top end bits, tool kit, maybe OEM wiring loom. Any NOS or OEM bits would be of interest.

Basically I’ll consider anything you may have so please let me know and I’ll get back to you.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi David,

No, I try where possible to avoid DK, I bought it privately.

Those exhausts look stunning but they’re from a slightly later bike than mine. Mine has the stubby, extra ugly silencers without the reverse cone end.

Definitely an acquired taste when it comes to bikes.

Are you looking to shift it for a knock down price Nigel?

No problems, as soon as I’m in a position to take some photos I will and then I’ll post them!

I didn’t think it would be that important for a wanted ad, especially as I’m not 100% certain what I’m going to need yet.

Cheers.

Hi Chris,

I think you’re right, I’m pretty sure it’s going to turn into a project and it will unfold over time.

Rest assured, photos will be posted as it moves on! I will probably need help and input from others as well as the help to try and find the parts that are really difficult to find!

Watch this space.

Cheers.
