KZ900 A4 - Any twin disc conversion gurus out there?

#1 PostAuthor: badgb21 » Sat Jun 04, 2022 12:09 pm

Hi
I recently purchased an A4 with a twin-disc conversion.
I have a couple of issues I'd like to run through offline.
Please email me and I'll fill in the details and respond with some photos.

Many thanks for any help.
Kev

If you get stuck give us a shout. I'm just down the road in Chandler's Ford. I did the same for my Z1-B.

Thanks to Warren for a sounding board on this.

I bought a KZ900 bike with a twin-disc conversion, only the discs were the wrong O/D size, the master cycl was the wrong size, the 40 yr old hoses were potentially dangerous (especially as they felt a bit lumpy?) So I will have to put this right............special shout out of thanks to the vendor!!!
I think when renovating these bikes it's good to keep an eye on the detail, but don't lose the big picture!

Science, logic, and common sense will always win against the 'huff' of a nerd who thinks his way is the only way, but in reality, he lost his way!

When you buy these things you sometimes end up with some crap to deal with, you done the right thing an you checked things out, and got a good result.

Thanks, Kev, appreciate the comments.
I kind of think brakes are consumables, so it eases the 'bitterness'!

I have learned, that even if someone purports to be an experienced Zed builder and has rebuilt bikes with a ton of detail, you need to be sure it's road worthy.
There have been a number of issues with the bike, that have been easily sorted, but had supposedly been dealt with.
Let common sense prevail!
I think the DOT should investigate, but I'll run out of steam persuing this and they have enough to do.
If I see him selling stuff, I will flag my concerns at every opportunity, backed entirely by facts.

Cheers
Kev
