mikuni rs flatslide 34mm

#1 PostAuthor: Stu90125 » Fri Jul 01, 2022 12:46 pm

Hi all
has anyone got any advice on fitting mikuni flatslides to a z900 a4 please ,are they worth the money , are they easy to set up,etc.
Im thinking of biting the bullet as i just cant get my bike to run right with the carbs that are on it,the spark plugs are sooty and i cant seem to get a decent fuel mixture. The carbs have been off and cleaned , needles and jets replaced, float levels set etc etc,ive read countless threads with regards to setting these carbs up and know its a job.
The bike has had wiseco 1015 pistons fitted along with a vance and hines exhaust so know im going to struggle with it hence my dilemma with going with the mikunis.
Or maybe there is someone locally(northamptonshireish) that could get it running right ???
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you had Rob replace the choke plunger seals?
If all else is good bad plunger seals will make your plugs sooty.

if you do got the rs34 route talk to Ralph at Bikerstoolbox.

I've got a set on my Z1R and you need to change to later inlet rubbers but they're a doddle to fit.

Fired up sweetly first time out. I'm sure they'll be better with a tune but great out of the box.

Did get rob to replace the choke seals and had hoped that would sort the issue, but unfortunately it didn’t !
