Help identifying an FZ swingarm

#1 PostAuthor: oldzed » Sun Jul 08, 2012 10:26 pm

Hi all

Just on the off chance..
I bought an FZ750 in bits the other day.I was thinking it would be good as a donor for better suspension on my 1000.

This is the arm that came with it.Anyone recognise what model its from?

Had a couple of FZ 750's (one with an Exup 1000 motor in)
Swingarms looked the same as yours but without the bracing or hugger.
Not seen one with bracing like that so maybe it's been modified ?

Looks very similar to a Genesis (late 80s arm)

As Zed1015 said without bracing or hugger tho' so recon def modded.

The Genesis era bikes all had the torque arm mount lug on the top of the swinger so thats been removed. Spindle size is the same as the Z if i remember rightly but the arm required machining on the width.

Going to monoshock oldzed?
Wots up DOHC

Thinking of modding my z1000ST

I have Already got cases and gearclusters from Z1015 for chain drive

Seems a shame not to use them :D

The ST frame is 300mm wide at the swingarm so loads of room for modding

but thats for wintertime.
