Z900A4 Gearbox parts
Hi guys, so I get the damaged bearing off the shaft today, the shaft has been damaged by the bearing as it has rotated on the shaft, the end of the shaft is knackered too. So has anybody got a set of clusters or just the output (sprocket side) cluster they would sell?
I found a later z1000 shaft on eBay but it's a different part number so I assume is different. Even if I got this I'd still need the 5th gear and the 2nd gear as I cannot get the bush from second gear off the damaged shaft.
Thanks.

Z1 through to MK2 chain drive outputs will do the job and all gears will interchange.
The later shafts don't have the hole for the oil pump drive pin and the splines are slightly longer to accomodate a thicker drive sprocket.

Thanks, typical that every one on Ebay must be later, the sprocket fitment appears to be with a bolt through the sprocket.
If nobody has any thing to sell I may have to buy the later shaft and look for a couple of gears to go with it.

All the z1 through to mk2 are nut fitment so do not buy any with a bolt.
The bolt ones are later J etc and will not fit.

Just looking online and it appears the 2nd gear is not going to be easy to find, so only option maybe buying that new shaft and one of the Z1000J gearbox's that DK have on eBay, I assume I could make all the bits match? its an expensive option though.

No! Non of the later J/GPZ type stuff fits.
The shafts are thicker and the gears are different.
You must use Z1 through MK2 gears etc.

I've got a gearbox if you still need it
Re: Z900A4 Gearbox parts
Might be able to help, I have an a4 which was jumping out of 2nd, not sure why so I bought another complete gearbox.
Trouble is I have been waiting forever for my guys to fit it, it's probably a horrible job to do.
But when it is done you are more than welcome to any parts you need FOC just the postage.
If anyone on here fancies the job let me know !

Z gearboxes are pretty easy to work on but a rotating engine stand helps and you do need to split the cases.
