Satin or gloss available. Satin is z style gloss is gpz style.
Really good stuff and easy to use. As with all paints make sure you apply when it's warm.

And make sure the next meal in there has plenty of garlic in it to disguise the taste

As above Simoniz/Sperex tough black.
It's the closest you can get to original finish and as good as the old PJ1 before they ruined the formula and probably the same stuff Sperex used to call Competition black case paint back in the day.
I use the Satin , let it air dry overnight and then "cure" it in the oven.
The paint can be manipulated to match the finish on the crankcases or glossier for the side covers depending on how many coats and how much heat is applied.
The paint on the pictured engine is all the same satin black which has been treated in accordance to how i wanted each finished part to look.

Re: Black Engine painted side casings.
I always used VHT SP-139 GM Satin Black good results, but that was many years ago.
Is the Sperex / Simoniz better than VHT?
also, am I right in thinking that Sperex and Simoniz are the same product?

I tried literally everything back when PJ1 changed the formula and took all the good stuff out ( California health and safety was to blame for that ) and the only paint that came close is the Sperex/Simoniz tough black.
And yes! depending on what part of the country you are in it's the exact same tin with either brand name on.

I've got some old stock US-made VHT, but I don't know when they changed the formulas
Any idea?
