Liner on Cylinder #1

I'm looking for some help on the best course of action to take with regards to the liner on #1 cylinder. I only just noted that it stands slightly proud of the block and the other 3 liners. Looking at earlier photos it would appear that this was also the situation when I disassembled the block 12 months ago. #1 liner does not seem to be loose. Looking for suggestions on how to proceed.

get it professionally pressed in ( they might want to heat it all up, remove that liner to make sure there's no foreign matter stopping it from seating down fully first) and then get the entire gasket face skimmed smooth

In my experience you can heat them up in the oven with the edge os the block supported so the liners can move downward. If the liner doesn't move on it's own when hot a tap with a soft mallet should do it.

some people put the cylinders in an oven and the liner just submits to gravity

Thanks for all the suggestions. I popped it in the oven and heated to 200 DegC using support blocks, the liner still needed a gentle tap with a soft mallet as suggested by Nigel. I think it should now be fine.

Don't forget to check and fit some new o-rings on the bottom of the liners while you're at it.

Barrel is from a J model, can't see any o-rings specified for this in the parts book I have?

Correct!
There's no provision for liner 'O' rings on the later models.

Sorry, hadn't noticed is was from the later J model. As has been said, none on this version.
