Has anyone ever fitted an Oil Pressure Gauge to a 1981 Z1000 J ?
If so, where does the pipe / fitting attach to the engine ?
Thank you

An oil pressure gauge fits in the m14 threaded port which is located on the end of the main oil gallery top left of the ignition housing.
These engines are high flow , low pressure so you will only get about 3psi when hot...

With brand new 20/50, a new genuine oil filter, a less than restrictive oil cooler, at 1500 - 2000 RPM, stone cold, on a good condition engine you could expect to see 15 to 20 PSI. and 2 - 4 ish PSI when red hot.
Old 10/40, red hot; less than 3 PSI at 1000RPM.
