Cracked Head

There is a crack in my Z1a Cylinder Head between the Exhaust Valve and Plug Hole. Is this repairable?

Best post a pic mate but in all the discussions iv ever heard on this topic unless you can see daylight through it its "play on". I recently changed a head gasket on my bandit 1200 and it had 4 cracks in the same place, ran fine before hand and runs grand now. Fella no KZR had a company in Germany laser weld the cracks on his, cost a bit and apparently there was no real difference in the compression tests but... thats only my chime, few others might offer advice.
Angus.

Too many bikes to list.

Cracks in that area are very very common and are simply surface fissures caused by heat expansion.
99.99 % of cases need no attention.
Almost every one of my heads have these and never caused a problem even on my turbo and supercharged motors.

Hi guys
I am trying to add photo of Cracked Head but failing.
Although the crack is definitely there, I can't see that it is going to cause a leak. It is between the Spark Plug Thread and the Exhaust Valve Seat. Repairing it sounds like a bit of a 'mare. I do however have another head without any cracks BUT that will need all new valve guides and seats.
Perhaps if I "Pressure Test" the cracked one, somehow.
In the mean time I will try to get photos in.

I remember seeing a comment on the website ( a long long time ago - decades ) that it didn't matter unless the crack extended all the way up the spark plug threads , from combustion chamber to outside world

you see the same thing on GS and GSX Suzuki's, fairly common issue but nothing to worry about.
