Choke Pluger Question ??

#1 PostAuthor: Foxfix » Sun Nov 30, 2025 11:30 am

I have a 1981 KZ1000 with standard Mikuni BS34 carbs fitted.

I am conscious that the rubber stops on the end of each choke plunger are 44 years old now and seen many discussions online that having them replaced with new Viton type stops can improve overall running, especially richness.
There is someone who offers a Viton Stop replacement service on Ebay UK which looks good and professional, as its clearly not an easy home DIY job, but is it worth the £50 + to have them done or not ?

Interested to hear from anyone who has had this done and whether its worth the cost...........or not ?

Thanks

Rob does them for the club and advertises on ebay. His forum name is Zed.1015 (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=401).
If it's Rob ebay ad your finding then yes go for it. Makes a huge difference.

Yes! It's my Ebay ad.
Don't bother with ebay. Just message me direct.
Cost is £12.50 per plunger + return postage.
The repair will pay for itself many times over in improved running and fuel mileage etc..
