Dyna S electonic ignition

#1 PostAuthor: tobro » Thu Apr 10, 2014 6:11 pm

Still trying to lay to rest the last of the gremlins in my'78 Z1 and considering a conversion to the Dyna S electronic ignition kit including 3 ohm coils. Can anyone tell me if this system still requires a fully servicable auto-advance unit to function or does this component become redundant?
Many thanks in advance.

Yes! you need the advancer mechanism.
The Dyna rotor slots on in place of the points cam.

Statically set the timing at full advance (so you know its right when flat out  ) by holding the advancer cam.... errrr, fully advanced :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
