Could you tell me what sort of length the restrictor should be as I'm going to try and make some?

They are only 8mm to 10mm long .
It's the hole size that matters not the length.
You don't want to be tapping too deep in to the carb and damaging the original fixed jet.
Also don't worry if the drill bit wanders as it goes through.
The Ledar ones start off central but most times emerge towards the edge at the other side.
