Silver Swing Arm Paint Recommends Please for ZRX

#1 PostAuthor: pertonpc » Mon Dec 05, 2016 2:57 pm

Hi There,

I am told that a 2001 A1P ZRX may have been supplied with an anodised clear finish on the alloy swing arm.

I think it is fair to say mine won't clean up and leave a mint anodised finish (sadly).

So if it don't what is a good match for the original and hard wearing for chain lube stains etc.

This one has been suggested so far -

Rustoleum Universal paint/primer in Titanium Silver Aerosol

Any tips or avoids please?

Thanks for looking

Any silver paint will look shite in a few hundred miles.
Might be worth looking into getting it re-anodised.
Last time I enquired it wasn't as expensive as I thought..

or get it polished.

I had a polished swinger on my ZRX1200 for years and upkeep wasn't that bad

I just had a GSX1100 original box section swing-arm powder-coated silver, for exactly the reasons you describe, it looks great and will be wipe clean.
Cheers,

Mark.

Thanks for the other ideas.

Has anyone used that rustoleum stuff at all?

I believe you have that suggested to you on thee ZRXOC forum, so yes a few folks have used that. Most people either powercoat or polish though.
