Need some O rings for VM29 Fuel T-piece

#1 PostAuthor: Shed20a » Fri Sep 27, 2019 7:02 pm

Good evening all,

Every spring when I wake my Z1B from its hibernation, I spend the first few hours waiting for the T-Piece O rings to swell up and stop petrol pissing all over the engine. I thought this winter I'd treat the carbs to some new O rings.

Trouble is Allens Performance haven't got any in stock and from Z1 Enterprises the postage cost is 5 times more than the cost of the O rings. I've been looking on the interweb for other places in the UK to buy some from, but nothings come up so far.

If anybody knows where I can get some from it would be appreciated.

Cheers, Stuart

If you know the measurements any good bearing shop should be able to supply them.
Simply bearings or Bearing boys etc have online shops you can search and order from.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I could take an O ring out to measure it, but knowing my luck after 40 years of service they'll fall to pieces as soon as I remove them, then I'll have no O ring to measure and no bike to ride..

I'll drop Vapourworx an email later.

Thanks again,

Stuart

Thanks for the link Wrigers,

I had a look at their shop. They sell T Pieces complete with O rings but they don't sell O rings individually, and they don't explicitly mention VM29 carbs just the standard Z1/Z1A/Z1B/Z900 carbs, and I don't know if they're the same or not.

Cheers,

Stuart

Hi ZedHead,

Thanks for the offer, but I've been trawling through ebay and just come across the advert below - four VM29 Smoothbore O-Ring Gasket Kits for for 30 quid.

I didn't fancy forking out 16 dollars postage for 3 dollars worth of O rings from the USA, but from here for 30 quid you get all the O rings plus the float bowl gaskets, including postage.

I'm going to give them a try. Thanks to all for your input.

Cheers, Stuart
