fitting an 'O' ring DID drive chain and the small packet contains the link and 'o' rings but no end clip, is this correct? I've fitted it and the assembly clicked together OK, is that it?
Thanks

Re: Drive chain
Do you mean the side plate is missing or that there is no spring clip ?
If the pins have dimples in the end it's a rivet link and if they have a groove then it's a clip and the clip is missing.
Pics really needed but it's most likely a rivet (soft) link and needs riveting.

Re: Drive chain
Spring clip missing, what tool do I need to pan the ends out? I'll only ever use it once!.
The small packet containing the link had a drawing printed on it not showing the clip.

Re: Drive chain
you will need one of these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-4191-Mot ... B0012M9K1K
best to get a micrometer and measure the distance between the links then when you rivet the links you can ensure that you do not overtighten
