Remove the weights from advancer you don't need them or the cam, just keep them in the box, and the advancer needs a mark on it at 40 degrees for full advance if not already got one, then follow instructions, not the best in the world but they are correct.

As the previous post but i would put it back in the box , stick it on Ebay and then go buy a Dyna 'S'.

Thanks Kev,
It's the strobe timing which is spinning my head! First read through of instructions I thoughts they meant the F mark but they mean Full advance at 5000rpm. Very bottom of instructions page states that Z1000 may not have Full Advance mark and explains how to do it.
I'll have to ring Boyer and get them to talk me through it. Just not getting it!!!

Looks like you have full advance marks to the left of the pins put a bit of tipex in the 1+4 one and go from there, i have installed a fair amount of these over the years, not on a zed though, but the instructions for all are like this, cottage industry for you.

As the other Gent said ebay it and get a Dyna S take's a few minutes to fit and no extra box to mount either
