Due to my inability to adequately flare the rivet link I got with my RK 630 chain I ordered a "RK Chain Split Link 630SO Clip" from XLMoto. Unfortunately they sent me another rivet link and then discovered that their stock was wrongly labelled and that they had no idea when they could get more.
I've looked around the interweb to try and locate a different supplier but cannot find one. Does anyone know of a supplier, or if it possible to fit another manufacturer's clip link (eg DID) and wher I could get one of them? They seem to be as rare as a 9 bob note.
Any help much appreciated.

Re: Z1-B drive chain clip link
Any make 630 split link will do the job as long as it's for the same type of chain 'O' ring, 'X' ring etc

Re: Z1-B drive chain clip link
Different links from other manufacturers will NOT fit successfully or safely. It is quite a scary thought really, ranking alongside using lockwire instead of spring clip retainers on drive chains
All have slightly different pin diameters even though the chain pitch may be the same.
The DID 630VS has a pin length of 25.3 mm
The RK GSV has a pin length of 25mm exactly
Chain roller thicknesses differ slightly too. You may get it in, but it is NOT right
RK do not make a clip link for that 630GSV chain.

Re: Z1-B drive chain clip link
So how do I fit a rivet link to my 630 chain? The Oxford tool I bought will not flare the ends of the link supplied sufficiently even though I had an extension bar on it! Or did I just happen to get extremely hard pins on my chain link?

I did my last one four years ago with a ball bearing in the vice.

Well Oxford is just cheap Chinese stuff. Buy or borrow a proper chain riveter and you will be OK.
DID make their own tool. RK does too. There are other quality tools thatw ill do it but are cheaper.
If you dont want to buy one, see if you can hire or borrow from a dealer - they WILL have the correct kit. Its a breeze to sort with the correct tool
