ds2-1 electronic ignition on fleabay

#1 PostAuthor: ChrisB » Mon Mar 28, 2022 3:11 pm

Good afternoon everyone.
Anyone used the ds2-1 ignition plates on sale from various ebay sellers. Looks to be a chinese copy of a dynatek one but at a cost of only £60.

I bought one after a mate of mine fitted one and it worked fine. Not fitted mine yet.

Dynatek have had all their stuff made in china for years now anyway and all indications suggest these "copies" are actually from the same factory .
They use the same DS2-1 part numbers and are visually identical apart from the lack of the Dyna name and packaging.
Reports from others who have took a punt on these (and also the Dyna coil copies) have so far had no problems and they perform exactly the same.

I had heard this too but wasn't 100% sure so glad that you have confirmed this. Thanks.

I'll give them a go then. Hadn't seen the coil copies before although i've used some non OE coils from Legend which work fine and if anything, are easier to use as they're slimmer with more space between the terminals.

Can someone post some links to these things as I’ve not come across them before.

I bought the ds2-1 but they're for a spare engine im building which has taken a while to get finished so I haven't tried them yet either. Just put the top on the engine to find I have no clearances whatever so it's going to be another week or two off faffing with shim swaps before i'm ready to put this motor into my bike. Will keep you posted though. They do look very similar to Dynatek's.
