Guys, I'm having a complete brain fade tonight.
I've got a set of, what I believe to be, z1b carbs.
There are two breather outlets between 1/2 and 3/4
and two t-pieces at the bottom.
There is also a t-piece, with an o-ring, between 2 and 3.
So, do I have two fuel inlets and an overflow or one fuel inlet and two overflows????
Sorry for being a complete d#*k but I've just come off nights!
Thanks in anticipation,
Pete

By your explanation, you have 3 fuel inlets at the bottom.

Re: z1b carb t pieces
so, if there's two fuel inlets should the piece between 2 and 3 be a plain connector piece?

You have three fuel inlets.
The middle one can be capped off or replaced with a plain connector.

Hi Pete
seems strange to me...
If the carbs of your bike are Z1b there's no connection between the fuel bowls of carbs 2 and 3.
Perhaps someone placed that T-piece there in the past not knowing that it wasn't necessary.
To be sure about it I would suggest that you connect one fuel line to the T-piece between carbs 1 and 2 and that you connect the other fuel line to the T-piece between carbs 3 and 4. When you open the fuel tap and if the T-piece between carb 2 and 3 is necessary there should be fuel coming out. If there's no fuel coming out, it's unnecessary to leave it there and it can be removed...allthough there's a lot of work involved to remove it.
If there's fuel coming out you need to blank it off and something happened in the past that isn't correct (a hole drilled where there shouldn't be one).

Re: z1b carb t pieces
Thanks guys......I thought I was losing it yesterday!!!
The fuel tap that came with the bike has two outlets, which I would expect and thinking back, there was a short piece of rather solid fuel pipe connected to the centre inlet which was standing almost upright under the tank. So you're explanations make sense, thank you.
In the dim and distant past someone (its a US import) has been mucking about and added a third.
I'll do what Phiippe suggests and check first but I would reckon it's a disassembly job and, as Rob suggests, fit a connector. They need stripping and cleaning anyway!
Thanks again for the quick replies and great info gentlemen......much appreciated.

I agree with Philippe.
Looks like they have had a T fitted in the middle wen it's not needed.

Re: z1b carb t pieces
I've checked the fuel flow through the 2 outer inlets, if that's a thing?, and nothing comes through the centre one. Popped a fuel line on the centre one and it went nowhere. So at some point in its previous life someone has put this t piece in.... God knows why? Maybe just to wind folk up!!
Anyway, they'll be going back together without it.....and after I've sent the chokes off to Rob for resealing.
Thanks for all the input folks....appreciated.

As they are apart if you look in the holes where the middle tee is there would be a 4mm hole in the casting, if not its a pointless tee.

Re: z1b carb t pieces
Had a wee look last night Kev, only holes are between 1&2 and 3&4....no small holes between 2&3, so, as you say, pointless....just can't fathom out why someone would put it there, but hey ho...
