GPZ1100B2 SPEEDO COMPATABILITY.

#1 PostAuthor: BAFF1960 » Mon Aug 07, 2023 3:44 pm

Hi.
I'm looking to replace my slightly slow running speedo on my B2. Investigating all the options as they're a bit thin on the ground [ what isnt? ].
I see the American versions run a reduced mph scale. Is this reduction carried out within the speedo gearing or at the cable drive in the front wheel ?
Seen some mph speedo's with 150 max limit. My B2 is marked 160 max. I assume these were Z1100R fittment. Can these be used without any other adjustment.

All cable driven Kawasaki speedos run the same drive ratio.
I run GPZ uni clocks on my Z1R and a ZXR750 speedo on another.

The simple answer is yes. The actual speedo unit is interchangeable. No need to change the front wheel speedo drive. The 150mph speedo, from the Kawasaki GT750 and Gpz750R1, can be used.

Internals can be changed to 160mph in the right hands. Even those with 80mph. Will Barber can provide new dial faces and possibly provide contacts of those people who can help. Alan Smith, Peter Horton and Al Marshall are those I know of that could possibly help.
Kwaki lover - Z1000R2, ZX9R F1P, GPz1100B1, 350 S2 and a brace of 500 H1's. For fun I've got a couple of LC's too yahooooo
