36mm CV Carbs onto a Z1000A1
A set of 36mm VM Mikuni carbs have come my way and I was wondering if anyone has fitted something similar to a Z900/1000A1 engine. The outside diameter of the engine side of these carbs is 42mm, considerably larger than the standard carbs which are approx 34mm. Are there inlet manifolds available for me to try the new carbs (1990ish GSXR 750/1100?).

The 1000J and 1100 motors used BS34's so maybe the 36's may fit J rubbers at a push if they are the correct spacing but they are likely ex Suzuki so won't be.
For a Z900/1000 motor they wouldn't be that great over the stock VM's and more likely a backwards step especially for bottom end response.
