Just been and picked up the Racecrafters paintwork from Platinum Bodyworks in Barton on Humber which is a stark contrast to the shitty job Retro Refits did on the seat ( that is now in the hands of Smart Rrrs near York ).. Platinum have done an absolutely fantastic job and not a piece of vinyl in sight with all the graphics 100% paint..

Looks like a stunning job! It’s going to look great on the bike!
What’s left to do now before we see it finished?

Just waiting for the seat really and then i'll have everything.
Once the bodywork is on there's just a speedo cable guide position to finalise , fuel tap, cap and a few hoses to fit and then it'll be time to see if it runs.

It was 10 weeks BUT the painter races stock cars and injured his hand in an accident which delayed proceedings and on top of that he had another two or three bike paint jobs on the go at the same time as well as the day to day car stuff they do as well.

Nearly there.
Bodywork on and looking better than i imagined.
A few small jobs and speedo cable to connect and then i just need something to sit on.

It looks stunning Rob!
The time, effort and skill you’ve applied throughout the build has paid off! Top job!

Is it going to the Dyno? What sort of numbers are you hoping for?

It'll most likely be seat of the pants Dyno and some plug chops as per usual .
I wasn't aiming for any particular horsepower and haven't really given it much thought but i have a rough idea how it should perform.
Hopefully i've guessed the jetting right and there won't be much tweaking to do once i've fired it up apart from balancing the carbs and re-torquing the head..

Got a call Monday from Martyn at Smart Rrrs in York to say my seat was ready to collect.
What a fantastic job he has done and a total contrast to the horrific attempt by the previous mob
It's exactly as i'd asked for right down to the panel layout of the original Two/Four - Giuliari seats.
With proper piping at the front.
Which hugs the tank perfectly.
And a nice even gap around the tail piece.
Even the underside is very presentable and worthy of being on display .
This is the second time in two weeks that i've been seriously impressed and it makes up for the time wasters i've had to suffer.
Whilst i was waiting for the seat there were a few small jobs that needed doing to finish the bike off so first up was to make a speedo cable guide attached to the bottom yoke.
This is needed to give the cable a smooth controlled sweep to the centrally mounted speedo otherwise the cable rubs against the headstock and bottom yoke.
Then another little job was to fit a one way tank breather hose which took some thought on what to do with the loose end and avoid any chance of fuel getting through and onto the new paint.
I couldn't find a neat way to fit an overflow bottle so came up with terminating the end of the hose with another one way breather attached up front behind the number plate.
Can't see much chance of anything significant escaping that set up.
And finally a nice shiney free flowing Pingel fuel tap to 'almost' finish things off.
All i'm waiting for now is the Kawasaki inline fuel filter i ordered to arrive and i can fit the fuel line and see if this thing actually runs.
