Looking really good there, very nice :up

Noticed the 'remove before flight' tab - are you planning on using an air shifter then? Bottle mounted on the opposite side to mirror the catch tank?

Questions, questions .........keep it going, cracking bike :up

I've been following the Zed1015 project and noticed that he had recently fitted bellmouths to his carbs. I took his advice and ordered a set from Hitchcocks. I know Zed1015 had to make some alterations to his but thought I'd let you know that the ones suitable for the 500 AMAL carb with a bore dia of 44mm fits a treat. Each bellmouth has 3 x slots machined at the clamp end and these close down nicely when tightened to fit the 43mm dia of the Mikuni's. Each bellmouth comes polished, fitted with the gauze and are supplied with a clamp and are priced at £11.00 each....result !!!!

Hi Ade...yeah, frame raked in order to fit the V&H sidewinder. When I bought the bike, as a box of bits, the frame had already been raked...the good old fashioned way with a section taken out of the top spine, heated and then braced into position. I'm sure I've seen a couple of zeds that run the sidewinder that don't appear to be raked. V&H state that it should be to allow for clearance.

Paul,

What's the widget on the oil filler cap? Oil temperature?

Did you make it yourself or is someone manufacturing them?

Part number for the 44mm is - BELLMOUTH44.
If you want 43mm then - BELLMOUTH43.

Well...after many years of "When are you going to get this f%$!ing project finished"...I am pleased to say I am very nearly there. Still a bit of work to do on the rear brake lever and a small oil leak to sort out on one of the cooler take offs but, apart from that, oh, and trying to get her MOT'd that's about it.

What you see here are a series of photos taken by me prior to a photo shoot for Practical (or should that be Impractical !) Sportsbike magazine...it'll appear as a featured bike in the next issue.

My take on the Diamond Dark Green paint scheme arrived from Simon at Flying Tiger Paintwork on Tuesday...I've said it on more than one occasion, but Si's work is amazing. It doesn't show up very well in my photos but the Diamond Dark Green candy is laid over three different metal flakes, including a chrome, and to say that it `pops` in the sunshine is an understatement !. I have seen a couple of photos that will be included in the magazine article and with the addition of a couple of flood lights, used during the shoot, the paintwork looks amazing. Simon is also responsible for my `orange` scheme that currently resides on my Z900...I have modified both sets so that I can alternate between both bikes if a fancy.

Ok, so the bike isn't for the purist, but what I've ended up with is the old Pro-Stock look Zed that I've always wanted. :)
