What a mess

Just seen this post.
The right and left pairs of carbs are the wrong way round on the backplate.
It won't make a difference in this case though unless you planned to run without an airbox and fit air correctors.

Cleaned up the swing arm bolt and finally fitted the new needle rollers to the swing arm.
Made myself a bearing press tool and that and keeping the bearing in the freezer before fitting seemed to work well.

Cant decide what order to do things and prevaricating due to low confidence, so been doing some disassembly and some polishing.

Rear mudguard, rear grab bar and rack was todays haul.

Mudguard not in too bad condition but seems to have a strange shape in it or maybe that deliberate for wiring harness and frame to fit?

Prevarication continues!

This ignition cover is cracked and missing a bit.

Am I best taking it off before putting the bike on its side?

Or am I best off fitting the side cover and dealing with it when the engine is in the new frame

Previous owner claimed this bike ran!

Just spotted the plug leads from coil one go to plug 1 & 2 and from coil two go to 3 & 4.

That and as previously mention by a z1 member the banks of carbs are on the wrong side. 1&2 are on 3&4 and vice versa.
Now it'll run like that but its sure hard to adjust.

It won't make any difference adjustment wise with it having the fuel screws underneath but if it had air screws then they would be inwards facing and inconvenient to get at. .

Goes to look at the bike to see if it has air screws or not??? Because they wouldn't have been easily visible before the way the carbs are mis-placed.

I carefully marked the ignition rotor position on the crank, but who knows if it was in the correct place in the first place.
??????

This is truly a ground up build!
