Very nice bit of kit. Have a stepped top yoke made to match and do away with the extensions.

Mikey,

Any chance of a 'clean' mop, the thought of me bit's being polished with something that's been all over some H***A parts is not very appealing :!:

Zed1015,

Surely, your havin' a laugh now................. Aren't you :?? :?:

I did think, I should have sent this job to you, It probably would have been done in an afternoon :!: :!: :P

Been out in me garage & shed today,
I partially assembled my front end to assertain the correct position for my lock stops
Image
Drilled & tapped the yoke (bit scarey, didn't want to fcuk it up now) to take lock stops.
lock stops are 16mm bar, that I have drilled off centre, so hopefully I will have some degree of fine adjustment.

Just need to get it to Mikey now :) :)

I have never really been a 'fan' of stepped yokes, had this one made as a solution to my low front end problem. If I were doing it again I would use different forks for sure. I dont mind using extensions, just need to use forks that don't taper in the wrong place :!: I am hoping that once this yoke has been polished to match the top, it will look a little less out of place. Also once all the other front end gubbins is bolted on then your eye won't be drawn to my 'chunky' bottom yoke. It did remind me of monster platfom shoes, of the seventies, which considering the age of the bike, kinda suits it :!: :!: :!:

Well, feeling that I now had all the pieces to re-fit my front end. I thought I'd book my MOT test for Friday. Earliest they can do it is a week on Friday!
Must be the bit of sunshine we've had or something? At least it means I won't be rushing things for this Friday I suppose. Am a bit gutted though, I have already pencilled in tomorrow afternoon as 'tinker time' & the forecast was sunny for Friday............... Oh well, will just have to road test it close to home!!!

OK, managed to spend a few hours in the garage this afternoon :D :D
I re-built my forks yesterday, fitted the yokes, then fitted the forks to the yokes. PROBLEM! I tried to adjust the rebound damping screw & it would only turn 2 clicks, instead of the 20 normally :??
I had threaded my damping rod extensions too much! Whipped the forks off today, unwound the damping rods slightly, then 'locked' them back up, with the lock nuts. Hey presto 20 clicks of adjustment

Fitted wheel.
Image
The whole thing now 'sits' a lot better, I will try and get it outside for some pics tomorrow.
Tonight I have also re-made my brake lines
Image
I have gone for a very simple 'Suzuki' two line set up. Last time round I had a 'splitter' fitted behind the bottom yoke, this all takes up space, which I now plan to use for an oil cooler.
Any how, one last pic of my yokes, as I had hoped, with all the other gubbins fitted, they don't stand out too much.
Image
Will bleed brakes tomorrow & hopefully do a bit of a road test. It will still be taxed tomorrow, but not MOT'd, so will not go too far :!: :!:
