Z650SR finished

#1 PostAuthor: Peter K. » Mon Oct 05, 2009 8:32 pm

A few months ago I finished my baby chopper Z650SR.

I found the bike in the Netherlands in Marktplaast.nl and got it for as low as
EUR 400,00. I picked it up with my doctor-46-bus about 400 miles from
home. The export papers costed me another EUR 29,00. The paintwork is
not orginal nor the seat, but it was made pretty neat.

I scrapped to old 4-1 exhaust pipe which was fitted an replaced it by
a 4-2 from Sito which I took off my Z650B (green).

Some of the parts like battery holder, rear brake rod etc. have been newly
spray painted. Rotted screws and other metallic parts have been
galvanic zinc plated.

An new cover over the front brake distributor was fitted below the head light.

A new point cover was also fitted.

A friend gave me the rear grab bar for free which fitted quite exactly.

Still remaining is a set of steel flex hoses for the front brake, which I already sourced from a dealer.

Technical inspection was made by the TUEV on 12.08.2009. So the bike is
now ready to register and run on the roads.

A new rear tyre is still needed. I already found an original crossed 4-2
exhaust system which will be sent for chromplating soon.

@floydsz1

well you are right. It's always a question of
the view point. I am also not "chopper-freak"
but somehow I do like the baby chopper....
