Sump Removal?

Tried to remove the sump on my Mark 2
It won't budge.
Any tips or tricks that aren't going to damage the casings?

give it a good couple of blows with a copper hammer at the sides preferably at the front part L + R side they are stronger than you would think . make sure the filter plate + all the bolts are removed first
