Well! I asked Peter at Electrex if there was a minimum limit on the size of battery I could run with the race alt as i wanted the smallest i could get away with to cover the demands of the Dyna and brake light and he said he wouldn't use anything less that 8 amp. Simples.

Maybe there's a risk of frying anything smaller with the alternator/regulator combo he supplies i don't know.

Busy day today

Mounts for Dyna coils done

PICT0035_zps83e1977f.jpg

And fitted
PICT0040_zpsdd70d635.jpg

Made a guide for the clutch cable to stop it flopping about and rubbing on the head
PICT0042_zpse7f88158.jpg

Re-jigged the oil cooler fittings so that the oil pipes now route between the inlet rubbers and the carbs can easily be removed without disturbing them.
As a bonus I also lost about a foot of hose length in the process so the oil will circulate quicker

And then made a fitting for the tank breather hose
PICT0051_zpsd9d8efd2.jpg

Also re-done the subframe struts in steel tube with brazed in threaded ends as I've gone off the ally ones I made.
The steel ones are as strong but lighter and are going to be powder coated black along with the subframe to blend in with the main loop and give some contrast against the alloy seat etc.

As it stands so far.

Finally figured out a mount for a side stand.
1/2" section alloy angle whittled into an appropriate shape.
Bolted to the lower engine mount and tied in to the sprocket cover.

Mixture of bent (Oop's! I mean adjusted angle :D ) and modified Buell XB and SRAD side stands with a Zed spring bolts to the underneath.

Not much to do now :D

Some things just HAVE to be done and after weeks trying to ignore the fact that the end can I made for the Drouin looked to be perfect for the Café I finally gave in and did the deed.
After a couple of hours with the saw, grinder and welder the transplant was complete.

I think I made the right decision and the Drouin is getting a fatter link pipe and Devil can in compensation.

Its made me re-read through this again http://enigma1050.co.uk/index.php/archive/
