So, can you fit a proper round Z900 type cam cover onto a MKII cylinder head :?:

Gaskets look the same (on eBay at least) but do the larger cam sprockets foul the cover - or are there other problems :|

Yes, the larger cam sprockets foul the cam cover, however, has
been overcome on a J model before apparently, with a bit of alloy welding wizardry.
Here for example, by jaffaZd in Australia...
