GB,

I'm impressed.

BUT..........

Get the bolts out of the head for the exhaust flanges and get STUDS in!!!!!

With a stud you split the load on the threads!!!!

That was a design error for the old Suzooks IMHO

Jimbo,

I didn't know you cared.

Pipe is only 'test fitted'. That head isn't staying on the bike, nor the 6mm bolts.

I have this lot on my watch list, probably cause you a little 'stir'.

Spent a bit of time in the Garage this weekend.

Firstly made up a bracket to hold the lower side panel lug. (You won't believe how much deliberation went into how/where to put such a small part. Still not 100% happy, as you'll see some of it under the panel, but once it's satin black I'm sure it won't stick out too much. :roll:

)

Next up was to start on cutting/shaping some 25mm tube for bracing. Not sure I'll go mad with it, but started with a couple of braces on the top tubes.

Then added some behind the motor with a bit of triangulation Kosman style.

I had considered fitting another horizontal tube at the front of the motor with a diagonal to make a 'Z' brace, but the Kosman drawings only show one horizontal front brace, so I may leave it at that........ For now. :fou

I plan to source some steel plate to 'gusset' the tubes behind the steering head, again, taking my inspiration from Kosman. :sou

Been busy again.

Pulled the whole thing apart, cleaned the frame & tacked in my bracing, ready to be welded in by someone that can do a far better job than me. :roll:

Cut off the steering lock tab.

And the shock mounts. :shock:

This one is drilled ready to be tapped for the exhaust hanger.

Also removed the rear of the lower LH footrest boss, as this will possibly foul the rivets on the chain. :shock:

Hopefully I'll be able to drop it off on Monday to have the welding finished, then it's off to be powdercoated. :lon

First bit of titanium also arrived today. :drool

Gonna have to be careful that this doesn't develop into a habit. :ek

Why are you using titanium nuts and bolts, I understand that they are far lighter but is it worth the expense? Only asking because people have suggested I use them on the Magnum and I can't see the point, if I had a modern race bike and I was a good rider then yes anything to save weight, but I haven't and I'm not, be cheaper just to go on a diet

I bought the titanium bolts to fit the suspension rocker. I didn't have anything that was the right length to fit my fabricated suspension mounts. Cost less than Â£15 delivered so a relatively quick, cheap & 'blingy' solution.

Head machined to take APE cam chain idler adaptor.
