Eventually, the Shed is ready to go. I'm looking forward to a good few rides this summer, so I get it prepped ready to go.
Fresh fuel in the tank, battery fully charged new oil and filter and the bike turns over well but I couldn't get it to fire.... I've taken the plugs out and they are wet and smell of petrol. Hmmm. Plug out and turn the bike over and find there's no spark. Suspecting something electrical, I whipped the tank off and check all the connections on the (NEW) loom. Try turning it over again and it fires up and runs for about 30 seconds before the fuel in the carbs runs out. So, I put the tank back on and try and again..... it wont fire up again.
Hmmm... tank back off and try to fire it up and it still wont catch... fiddle with the wires that connect the (NEW) Dynacoils to the (old) electronic Dyna ignition and it fires up again .... Yay! Tank back on..... guess what... it wont fire again. :mad
Tank back off and check those connections again... now it wont fire up at all and the battery is draining from all the cranking over.
Very frustrating.
I'm suspecting a broken wire or loose connection. I need to get a multimeter I guess and test the continuity of the circuit... Is there anything else I should check while I'm at it?

The coils arnt to close to the tank so when it's fitted they either short out on it or it pushes them onto the frame and shorts them. ??

Seem to recall seeing a post about this being a problem with Dynacoils - hopefully someone will be along soon that has a better memory than me  or is better at searching the forum :blush
