New HT Leads

#1 PostAuthor: AlanB » Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:21 pm

I want to replace my current HT Leads/Plug caps etc on my 79 Z1000 A2 as they are old and mixed colours - Any suggestions on good quality ones to use ? Also do they come ready to plug straight in or is there other work required to fit ? Thanks all.

Unless you have a quality crimping tool I would recommend buying leads with the coil connection (to the lead) ready done.
I was able to do this with mine which simply screw into my existing old style spark plug caps.
Since the coils gave up the ghost on my A2 about 3 years ago I did leads and coils in one hit

You can of course buy them ready made up and complete
Taylor leads seem to be widely used

I use Dyna leads..
Half the price of Taylor's and perform just the same.

You have to put the connectors that go into the coils onto the Dyna leads yourself, not difficult, I did a set on Sunday with a pair of pliers and a firm push.

My preference is Taylor leads as I prefer thier ht cap, and they come in a variety of colour choice. Hs has been said a pair or pliers and job done.
