#1 PostAuthor: wheelysteve » Sun May 14, 2017 11:32 pm

What's the process for swapping shims for the under bucket 13mm items as fitted to the Z650 etc.?

Take all measurements while cold, remove cams see what sizes are under bucket swap around and replace those needed, replace cams turn engine over a couple of times, recheck, if ok run up to temp, check again next day when cold.

Are you asking what you have to do/get if you want to swop from over bucket (z900) to under bucket (z650)? or as Kev posted how to swop shims on a existing under bucket set up?

Sorry, I was asking how the shim swapshop works for the smaller under bucket jobs. I need 5 smaller thickness shims for one of my 650's. I've used the shim exchange for the Z1 that Jerry looks after but I know he doesn't do the smaller ones.

The club has a 13mm shim collection available on a swap basis, but who looks after now and how does it work?

Cheers Steve
