Saddle Advice Please

#1 PostAuthor: csx355 » Wed Jun 07, 2017 7:01 am

Hi all - just beginning to pull everything together for my Z1000a1 and organising the refurb's on stuff that I can't do myself.

The seat base on the saddle that I have with the bike is pretty manky with rust.

I think it might be the original but am happy to be told otherwise. I have had saddles refurbished by Andrew at Leightons before and been very happy with the results however this one is likely to take a bit more work, probably cost £175 plus including postage and possibly have the base repairs noticeable. I like the idea of using the original stuff and want it to look right where possible.

My questions are -
How good are the aftermarket saddles, which ones would be the best alternative?
Is this the original saddle - is it worth staying with it?
Would the metal repairs give anyone real cause for concern?
Does anyone have a decent saddle for sale?

Thanks in advance.

Your base/pan looks original I would buy a repro seat the quality is very good, saves time and money in the end.
