Hi there
Been a member on and off for a few years now. Got a bit sad that started out in the late 70s as a Z1r. It was modified before I first had it 20 odd years ago. Usual story kids came along and bike went. Found it again on ebay after 15 years and had to have it back. Will get a photo on here when I work out how to do it!

Re: Hi there
It was originally a Z1r. Think only the frame and forks are right now. It's a total bitsa but most of it is zed apart from the cbr front mudguard. It was modified years ago and it's kinda nice not to worry about it just ride it. I blew the original engine up years ago. The exuberance of youth and not too much mechanical knowhow!!

Re: Hi there
Any how just realised I didn't answer the question. To the best of my knowledge it was an original 1978 model. I've been told it's a US import which is why it's registered as a 1980. I've not confirmed it yet but it may have been used on the drag strip for a while. The original engine had been tuned.
Re: Hi there
It was just the head made me wonder the earlier one had round cam covers
