Lovely bike mate .what carbs are you running ?
The front guard looks a tight fit ...is it the tyre or is it back to front ?

Re: Z1100 R1 1985
Thanks for the positive comments guys, nice to be appreciated ,
Chris I'm running RS 34 carbs, with velocity stacks instead of filter pods, shes slightly lumpy in town riding but over 2500 RPM's she pulls like a train, DYNA electronic ignition and coils with taylor leads, extra braced swing arm and braced front forks with progressive springs, Marzocchi rear shocks.... the list goes on ....
The front mud guard ?? I've never noticed it may well be on back to front as i'm running stock sized tyre's, ill need to check thanks.

Re: Z1100 R1 1985
Give yourself a good pat on the back ,superb job , I think the mudguard is on the correct way round as it has the long side pointed down !
Re: Z1100 R1 1985
Very nice bike with lots of period mods , just my cup of tea ! Any pics of the other side , I would like a better look at the braced swing arm and while I am being curious what is the exhaust ?
Don't worry about the front mudguard mine looks the same , Its the result of a Gpz or 1000J/R guard in combination with the wider 18 inch wheel of the 1100R .
Richard

Re: Z1100 R1 1985
hi Richard, thanks for the comments, ive checked through my photos on my phone and ive no photos of the left hand side , but i will take some and post them when i get home from work next week,
the brace on the swinging arm i fabricated and fitted my self, quiet easy and effective, less weaving through bends.
The exhaust i bought from ''https://japan.webike.net, excellent quality and sound with and without the baffles, (saving up for a kerker system), but there is a lovely S1 type exhaust system on the above website which is considerably cheaper than the kerker, and looks better in my opion, decisions decisions
cheers

Re: Z1100 R1 1985
Really tidy Bike Scot,
I found the RS carbs with open trumpets a bit noisy & scary - Worried about debris being sucked in, so I stuck a set of RAMAIR sock filters over them, seemed to do the trick.
Your right, cant beat a Kerker with race baffle

Re: Z1100 R1 1985
Hi Z1000puddin, yes i agree about the noise from the carbs once they pass a third open it just encourages me to ride faster .... which isnt a bad thing , i do have a set of round foam RAMAIR filters in the garage ill give them a go see how she sounds,
Zippy, i like loud, the PMC S1 is probably what ill go for, i've a complete stock GPZ exhaust system and the current one fitted, if i sell both i will buy the S1 over the winter months.
