Re: KZ900 the beginning
I think I’ll get a seat first and maybe a tank, my tank has the wrong filler cap it’s a twist fit probably from its police days. I presume the correct tank has a flip cap? Unless anyone knows better?
I’ll contact you later, thanks for you help so far.

Re: KZ900 the beginning
Hi again, hope the build is going ok. I am now going down the standard bike route, I noticed you welded on lugs for the passenger foot pegs, could you tell me the position of these? I don’t want to put them in the wrong place.
Thanks
Nick.
Thanks

Re: KZ900 the beginning
It’s not so critical but from the top of the exhaust hanger to the bottom is 270mm I can take pics if you want

Re: KZ900 the beginning
Thanks mate, that’s all I needed. I didn’t want to put them too low so they hit the exhaust pipe when folded down.
Thanks again

Re: KZ900 the beginning
Sorry to keep on to you mate but I need more advice, I’m about to put the side stand bracket on but I’m not sure how critical the angle is, any ideas?
Thanks
Nick

Re: KZ900 the beginning
Ill be honest with you I had to take @ gamble on the angle of the side stand after studying others bike pictures. Just hoping I got it right as the bike if far from finished so it will be a longtime until I can be sure. Hopefully some one may be able to advise

Re: KZ900 the beginning
Been a while since I have been on as still collecting missing parts, I have some of the major pieces at the chromes and have been filling in my time cleaning up the cases.
Latest jobs have been to fit a tyres to the re laced rear wheel..
The old check twice came into play. I checked to make sure I had the rotation of the tyre pointing the right way and fought to get it on the rim and then noticed it was the wrong way ahhhh ok take of a start again this time checking more than twice. Last part of getting the tyre on and nipped the tube....... off to the shops for a repair set and and finally job done and holing air.... no such problems with the front
