Metal bodied oil seals

#1 PostAuthor: steve452 » Sat Aug 22, 2020 3:45 pm

After trying to fit the 3 metal bodied oil seals (see pic) to the transmission covers with finger pressure, and then tapping them with a wooden drift, unsuccessfully, I discovered they're quite a tight fit. Can they be pressed in using the old threaded rod/washers/nuts trick or is heating the cases the way to go, or a combination of the two? Slightly worried that the cases will get damaged with too much pressure as they look a bit fragile.
