Engine covers DOHC logo background colour

#1 PostAuthor: steve452 » Sun Aug 30, 2020 1:35 pm

Having lost my original alternator cover after hitting someone's front door 43 years ago, I availed myself of one of the Z-Power pattern replacements (see pic). The cover itself is fine and fits perfectly, however IIRC the textured background on the DOHC logo should be black (I am rebuilding my 45 year-old Z1-B) as per the Z-Power picture (shown below) and should also match my breaker cover (also shown below). Can anyone confirm that it should have a black background and, if so, how do I go about painting it? Could it be as easy as running a black Sharpie over the textured backing and then wiping with a rag, or do do I need to get serious with some acrylics or other stuff?
