Carb Rebuild Kits
Anyone got any recommendations for carb rebuild kits for a Z Thou?
Re: Carb Rebuild Kits
Only use genuine Mikuni or Keyster parts and only replace parts that are clearly damaged or worn.
Usual parts are gaskets, 'O' rings, float valve ,choke plunger seal and sometimes the mixture screws with chewed heads or broken tips.
The rest of the carb components rarely need anything but a good clean.

Perfect, thanks.
Re: Carb Rebuild Kits
Definitely agree, only replace jets and needles if you need to.
Keyster gaskets are ok, Ive personally had bad experiences with keyster needles and jets being inaccurate, though there are plenty here who've never had any issues at all.
Safest to fit genuine mikuni metal if you can find it. I think firms like keyster and All Balls have erratic quality control, so usually their stuff is good value and good enough, occasionally it isn't and can cause a world of pain.

I use keyster kits and only replace the bear minimum parts. Usually just gaskets, o-rings and fuel valve.

Re: Carb Rebuild Kits
Interesting, these carbs don't have a lot of miles on them and the bike does run so hopefully it will be just gaskets and 'o rings' then.
