Hi
Seem to have some light surface rust in bottom of petrol tank, any tips/ suggestions on how to remedy this before it becomes an issue?

I have used this a couple of times and was very happy with the results, but keep it off your paintwork. Good luck.

Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s environmentally friendly.

+1 for that stuff. Useful for a lot more than petrol tanks. Takes rust off most things. :D

Excuse my ignorance,
Once you've cleaned the tank, what do you coat it with?

For my rusty tank I used cider vinegar and ball bearings, and swished it around for a while. The finish was excellent. It did take me ages to get the ball bearings out tho. Maybe small bolts wired together would have been a better idea. :D

Watched a Henry Cole "fix it flog it' on TV this morning - where he (Alan Millyard actually) dealt with a rusty petrol tank by pouring in a jar of sweet molasses & leaving overnight.
Probably can be googled for more details but I suspect if Millyard uses it there must be something in it. - Could be a cheap fix
(The bike was a Z1A)

Cheers

I'm not sure is of any use, I put it on last year after issues with my tank. Hopefully the link works, I'm on my mobile, which sometimes causes issues. If not it's on my posts.

Stu.
